The body found in rural Northland on Thursday has been confirmed as 48-year-old Kimble Moore.
Moore, a patched member of the Tribesmen Motorcycle Club, had been missing since March 17 and police last month upgraded the investigation into his disappearance to a homicide.
A police spokeswoman said on Friday afternoon that officers' thoughts were with Moore's family.
"We hope that they will get some degree of comfort knowing that they will now be able to bring their whanau member home."
