Adam Luke Gould: Accused baseball bat bikie granted bail

A HIGH-RANKING Finks bikie accused of using a baseball bat during a wild brawl at Wallsend has been granted bail in Newcastle Local Court.

Adam Luke Gould, 32, appeared in court via audio visual link from Silverwater Correctional Centre on Monday charged with affray and using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence stemming from a brawl between the Finks and Nomads in Thomas Street on December 9.

The brawl erupted after gang members coincidentally arrived at service stations across the road from one another. At least one Nomads member, 26, needed treatment in John Hunter Hospital for his injuries.

Mr Gould has not entered any pleas. His solicitor, Lauren Hartigan, applied for bail on Monday and it was granted by Magistrate Robert Stone on the condition Mr Gould not have any contact with anyone from the Finks outlaw motorcycle gang.

He was also ordered to report daily to police, adhere to a curfew and forfeit $2000.
The matter was adjourned to February 23 when Mr Gould is expected to enter pleas.
