MS-13 gang member in Md. accused of killing girl said she 'would see her in hell' before stabbing her 13 times: FBI

A 17-year-old member of the notorious MS-13 gang accused of murder in Maryland told the 15-year-old victim she "would see her in hell" before stabbing her 13 times, an FBI agent testified. Venus Romero Iraheta is one of ten members of the gang accused of slaying Damaris Reyes Rivas in Fairfax County.

Authorities say Iraheta held the girl responsible for the murder of her boyfriend a week earlier, on or around New Year's Eve.
"(Irahea told the victim she would never forgive her and would see her in hell," FBI Special Agent Fernando Uribe testified Thursday, according to the Washington Post.

The body of Damaris Reyes Rivas was found in February, one month after authorities believe she was killed.

In addition to allegedly stabbing her 13 times, Iraheta is also accused of cutting off a diamond tattoo the victim displayed in honor of the slain beau, a source told the newspaper. It was determined during Thursday's hearing in juvenile court that Iraheta would be charged as an adult. Wilmer Sanchez-Serrano, 21, and Cindy Blanco Hernandez, Aldair Miranda Carcamo and Jose Castillo Rivas, all 18, are the other adults accused in the murder. Agent Uribe testified that Iraheta stated her full name to Rivas before killing her, according to the Washington Post.

Cindy Blanco Hernandez and Aldair Miranda Carcamo are among the 10 people charged in the murder.

Damaris Reyes Rivas' body was found in February, one month after she went missing. Investigators believe she was brutally murderered on or around Jan. 8.

Iraheta also went missing earlier this year, but turned up safely.
"I was with friends," Iraheta told WUSA after returning home. "And the reason I left was because I was afraid about what happened to my ex-boyfriend."

Jose Castillo Rivas and Wilmer Sanchez-Serano have also been charged.

When asked at the time if she knew what happened to Rivas, she told WUSA, "I just heard about it ... not really." Uribe testified that Iraheta and Rivas were both involved with 21-year-old Christian Sosa Rivas, according to the Washington Post. Christian Sosa Rivas and Damaris Reyes Rivas were not related.

Iraheta believed that the girl helped set up the murder of Christian Sosa Rivas. Damaris Reyes Rivas was tortured at length by Iraheta and the other nine suspects, aged 15 to 21, before she was killed.
"She was forced to remove her shirt to make her feel pain like Christian," Agent Uribe testified, according to the Washington Post.
