Adelaide's bikie drug trade has been disrupted, and a dozen people arrested, in a major operation involving state and Australian Federal Police (AFP), and other authorities. Police searched 22 properties this week and seized more than 11,000 tablets of MDMA, as well as various quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and cannabis.
Knuckledusters, a shotgun and a machete were among the weapons seized, along with five vehicles.
Police said the 12 men arrested were "responsible for the drug distribution networks" of the Hells Angels, Gypsy Jokers, Descendants and Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gangs.
"These groups will come together and effectively partner and do illicit drug trade," he said.
Most of the suspects are aged in their 20s and have been charged with drug trafficking, along with other offences. Police said all of the men were arrested "without incident" and some have been released on bail. The operation involved 180 personnel from the AFP, Border Force, the Tax Office and South Australian Police.
"This is yet again another great example of interagency collaboration and co-operation," AFP Commander Peter Sykora said.
"Organised crime gangs and outlaw motorcycle gangs are still chancing their hand at the criminal activity that they're undertaking here in this state.
"That's drug dealing, that's violence, that's dealing in arms."
Police today also uncovered a large cannabis crop in an underground water tank on a property north of Adelaide. A 54-year-old man from the property at Hillier was arrested and charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis and possessing prescribed equipment.
He'll appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court in June.
It follows a string of drug-related arrests in Adelaide this week, which police say are not connected.
"These seizures are a significant step towards ensuring the safety of our local community by stopping illicit drugs from circulating," Inspector Cameron Devey said.
Earlier today police searched a property at Two Wells and found equipment they suspected was being used to grow cannabis. A 36-year-old local man was reported and will appear in court at a later date.
On Thursday police allegedly found three cannabis plants growing in the backyard of an Angaston property, and about 580 grams of dried cannabis. A 35-year-old Angaston man was reported for trafficking a controlled drug.
On Tuesday police also arrested a 33-year-old Nuriootpa man and charged him with trafficking in a controlled drug. Inspector Devey said the cases were not linked but were discovered as part of normal policing activities.

"This is not the end of it. This is very much about disrupting their business model," SA Police Assistant Commissioner Scott Duval said."These men were arrested on Wednesday and Thursday in a series of coordinated efforts, with police also seizing methylamphetamine, ecstasy, cocaine, cannabis and some weapons." He said there was evidence gangs were working together.
