4 arrested at Quebec biker gang gathering

The Dark Souls event was advertised on Facebook as 'the mask event 3'

A gathering of the Dark Souls biker gang, which has alleged links to the Hells Angels, was interrupted this weekend by a police surveillance operation. Four people were arrested on Saturday in Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon, located about 35 kilometres south of Quebec City, by the Sûreté du Québec, the RCMP and local police forces.

The event's organizer could be facing charges for illegally possessing and selling alcohol, while another man was arrested for the negligent storage of a firearm, according to police. The two others at the gathering were wanted under arrest warrants.

The SQ said the organizers would have needed an alcohol permit for the party and didn't have one.

Party advertised on Facebook

About 150 people were supposed to attend the event, which was advertised on the group's Facebook page as "the mask event 3." A marquee with a stage had been planned to host the activities in a local restaurant's parking lot, but the event ended up taking place at a private residence.

Hip hop performances, a smoke show and body painting were planned.
The party was announced amid Hells Angels efforts to increase the motorcycle club's visibility.

Members of the club were spotted in the Montérégie region's Saint-Pie-de-Bagot during the Thunder Bike Show. The Hells Angels also had a merchandise booth at Saint-Hyacinthe's farming exposition in early August, but they were told to leave.

Mayor apprehensive of the event beforehand

Before Saturday's event, the SQ said it would be keeping a close eye on the festivities.
Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon Mayor François Barret had said Friday he wasn't happy the party was happening in his municipality, but that it wasn't illegal.
