Brandon Burlingame, 35, the Lathrop firefighter charged with premeditated attempted murder, bailed out of San Joaquin County Jail on Dec. 23 and was arraigned Wednesday on the felony charges filed against him. Burlingame is an engineer with the Lathrop-Manteca Fire District where he has been employed for some 12 years. He is suspected of assaulting a patron at a pub at 10 p.m., on Saturday Dec. 1. He reportedly had been wearing a Jus Brothers Motorcycle Riders patch identical to one posted on his Facebook page.
The Jus Brothers Motorcycle Riders are seen by police as an affiliate of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club. Burlingame was arrested by the Manteca Police Street Crimes Unit the following the incident on Dec. 7 as he was driving away from his French Camp home. He was jailed for allegedly stabbing a 43-year-old patron of The Pub Bar located on North Main Street at Joseph Road after a conflict with others in the establishment. The police report indicated he had left the bar and returned with a knife used in the assault.
He was held in San Joaquin County Jail for some two weeks in lieu of $100,000 bail.
He is scheduled to return to court in late February for his preliminary hearing.
