Former Hells Angel accused of hit and run was stripped of his patch

Cops were slow to name the hit and run motorcyclist who allegedly ran down a four-year-old boy earlier this week, leaving him in life-threatening condition - Biker injures 4 year old boy in Toronto HIT & RUN

And in a Toronto courtroom on Tuesday, the suspect — a man named Darren Dawson — was allowed to wear his hoodie pulled over his face.

Few courtroom observers had seen anything like it.

Dawson, 31, is the offspring of late Hells Angels stalwart William “Billy” Dawson.
He allegedly followed his father into the 1% world of outlaw bikers but sometime during the last few years, sources told the Toronto Sun, he was stripped of his patch.

There are a number of things that will get you the boot from the fabled Angels.

Do not do it. Messing with the woman of another Angel is bad news. SUPPLIED
  1. WOMEN: It’s in the DNA of bikers that you should never, ever mess around with another man’s “old lady.” And if you do, well, it’s adios chum.
  2. BEING A FINK: The. Worst. Thing. Ever. Even when you’re looking forward to a jolt in the electric chair, most outlaw bikers never want to get hit with a snitch jacket.
  3. BEING TOO VIOLENT: Violence is bad for business and the annals of the Angels are filled with dead bikers who crossed the line.
  4. THESE COLOURS DON’T RUN: Do not lose your colours. Ever.
  5. RULES OF THE ROAD: You need an American-made motorcycle and please, never take a bus or train.
  6. SNITCHES DIE: Clifford Mallory was a rat and when he was found out, he had a motorcycle “accident.” But 1%ers are more benevolent towards law enforcement. If a cop infiltrates the gang, the way the Angels look at it, they’re just doing their job.
  7. DON’T STEAL FROM A BROTHER: As per the Oakland chapter of the Angels: “Anyone caught [stealing] will be kicked out of the club.”
  8. DON’T DO [too many] DRUGS: Addicts are unpredictable and vulnerable to law enforcement. If your drug use becomes a problem, you’re out.
  9. HE AIN’T HEAVY: Always back a brother biker, particularly in one of the frequent donnybrooks the Angels are famed for. Legendary Angel Sonny Barger said not sticking up for a brother “immediately gets you kicked out of the club.”
