Two suspects charged for murder of Hells Angel in Surrey drive-thru

Two men have been charged with murder in the Friday shooting death (link is external) of a Hells Angel at a drive-thru in South Surrey.

They have been charged for the shooting death of 43-year-old Suminder (Ali) Grewal, a member of the biker gang’s newest B.C. chapter, who was killed Friday morning (link is external) at the Southpoint Exchange Mall in South Surrey.

Surrey RCMP said the shooting occurred around 9:20 a.m. in the drive-thru shared by Envision Financial and a Starbucks in the 3000-block of 152 Street.

Cpl. Elaine Sturko said first responders tried unsuccessfully to revive a man with gunshot wounds. Grewal was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported to police that two people were seen fleeing in a vehicle and later on foot. Police said officers were able to intercept the suspected vehicle and arrest two men who remain in custody.
