(video) — A member of an outlaw motorcycle gang has been shot dead in a calculated ambush outside his family home in Sydney’s south-western suburbs. Detective Superintendent Rob Critchlow of the NSW Police today confirmed that the man arrived at his Wall Street home in Panania around midnight from a leisurely night out before he was ambushed by someone hiding in the dark at the property. He was shot multiple times and, despite the CPR efforts of members of his family, neighbours and emergency services, died at the scene.
“We can confirm that the victim was known to us — a member of the Comancheros outlaw motorcycle gang,” superintendent Critchlow told reporters today.”Despite the fact that the victim is known to police, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s a family man.”His wife and young child were home at the time, he lives in a suburban street with neighbours that know him and think well of him.”No one deserves to be treated like this and murdered in such a callous fashion out the front of their home.”
He also described the attack as “very calculated, very deliberate and quite brazen” and said the fact the shooting was in a suburban street has police concerned.”The use of firearms to prosecute internal politics in any group in a public place is totally unacceptable,” superintendent Critchlow said.”Bullets can kill anybody, regardless of the person they’re aimed at.
“Anyone involved in violence or organised crime in Sydney, NSW and Australia can expect attention from police as a result of this.”We’ll be knocking on doors and knocking down doors until we find the people responsible and we remove firearms from the community and make the community safe.”Police have said a change in the man’s Comancheros membership may have been a motive for the attack, but authorities are chasing multiple lines of investigation.Superintendent Critchlow also said detectives are looking for a late-model white SUV or wagon that may have been seen in the Panania area in recent days.
