Bandido murder case: Eighth person charged in relation to the murder of central west chapter president, Shane De Britt

An eighth man will face court over the shooting murder of a senior member of an outlaw motorcycle gang near Wellington earlier this year.

Queensland Police arrested the 32-year-old man at a truck stop at the Gold Coast under the authority of an NSW arrest warrant about 6.20pm on Sunday.

He faced Southport Magistrates Court on Monday, where detectives applied for and were granted the man’s extradition to NSW.

The 32-year-old was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station, where he was charged with murder, participate in criminal group contribute group activity and possess unauthorised firearm.

He was refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Tuesday.

Bandidos Central West Chapter president Shane De Britt was shot inside his home on January 14 at Eurimbla, about 50km south of Wellington.

When police arrived they found the 60-year-old dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

So far strike force detectives have also arrested and charged seven people for their alleged roles in De Britt’s murder.

The six men – aged 58, 39, 39, 38, 37 and 22 – and a 34-year woman remain before the courts.

Investigations under Strike Force Kerrison are continuing.
