Bronx Gang War - Nore & The Murder Unit Before Drink Champs - 157th St G...

In the dark underbelly of hip hop, many rappers have been affiliated with certain street crews. These street crews can be doing anything from extorting, to acting as security detail for a rapper. Not all rappers live what they say and use street guys around them to boost their image.

This is not true for all rappers, as we know some who have actually put in the work. Norey, who many of you may know from the podcast, drink champs and whose real name is Victor Santiago, has told his fair share of street stories, so we are not talking about him per-say. Either way, back in the 90’s, it was almost imperative that you had a team with u. in January of 2007, Norey testified on behalf of a man named, Darryl Henderson, who had been on trial on charges stemming from a January 21, 2002 triple murder near Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. NOREY., said he met Henderson in the Bronx in 1998 or 1999 and brought him on concert tours as a roadie, running errands such as ordering food and beer for the performers. He said he also befriended members of Murder Unit, a Bronx street gang, but did not know that some of them had violent histories, sold drugs and carried weapons. Hard-core hip-hop tends to sell more records, NOREY said, noting the advantage of a rough edge in the business. "It's about selling an image.

The rapper said he took members of Murder Unit on tour with him to give them a chance in the business. We not even going to speak on what norey said, but let’s just say that the streets would say this was honorable. Anyway, the murder unit is from the Bronx, and norey is from lefakk queens, so how did they merge. Well, way before this. 2 o.g’s from harlem, Sammy o and another guy, were close friends. They had a crew called the murder unit on convent avenue. They had influence over some young guys from their hood, and Sammy o, had influence on the crew in the Bronx. Sammy o, would, merge the two young crews, which in turn, would collectively be the murder unit. The murder unit, was based on 157th in Gerard avenue, a few blocks from Yankee stadium. You had guys like, deuce, 6 sev, 23, sha-rod becton, a.k.a, 5 and Darryl Henderson. You also had, 72, 42, 13, 81, and baby bob, a.k.a, zero minus who was the youngest, and others.
