Third man arrested for plotting against senior underworld figure

Organized Crime Squad detectives and Public Order and Riot Squad officers arrested an 18-year-old man in Gorokan on the Central Coast on Friday morning, as part of their investigation into the alleged plot to kill Andre Kallita, a senior Comanchero bikie with close ties to slain drug lord Alen Moradian aka mr Big. Strike Force Barralier was established in December 2023 by State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad to investigate an alleged conspiracy to murder Kallita in the Sydney metropolitan area. Investigations identified three men as allegedly being involved in a plot to murder the 30-year-old.

Two of those men were arrested and charged in January and remain before the courts.These are cousins Sulaiman Ahmad, 18, and Azam El-Mohamad, 31. Law enforcement officials disclosed that the individuals responsible for carrying out the act, along with their accomplices, were promised a substantial sum of up to $400,000 for executing the mission.

Kallita narrowly escaped a murder conspiracy, disrupted by luck when Azam El-Mohamad, 31, was pulled over while riding in the back of a taxi in Waterloo last December. Law enforcement officers, suspecting El-Mohamad's involvement in a drug deal, discovered firearms, a balaclava, gloves, and two phones in his backpack. This unexpected turn of events prevented the menacing murder plan from unfolding.
