It is a tradition that after the Run is already before the Run, and immediately after each National Run, the manoeuvre critique is simultaneously the start of brainstorming and planning for next year’s event. However, as the date of the annual Run draws closer, the hustle and bustle increases and at the latest, during the week before the event weekend, it takes over the Run Team completely.On the other hand, the Brothers and Supporters who, on Friday, July 19th, arrived with the Pack Ride in the flag-decorated avenue of the party venue found a fully equipped Red & Gold domicile where they – without any further ado – could start partying and cultivating the close bonds of Brotherhood. Not least on the occasion of Bandido Luca1%er’s Ten-Years Membership already Thursday evening, a warm-up party was organised in the Clubhouse of Chapter Bologna. An opportunity of which was made plenty of use as many Brothers from all over Europe and beyond had already travelled to the event a few days earlier.
Temperatures in the Emilia Romana Region where the National Rund took part a second time in a row were high; however, the spirit of the participants and the good mood of the celebrating crowd was even higher. Well-equipped and educated First Aiders of the Club were deployed around the clock to ensure that the party community not only enjoyed alcoholic beverages but also had enough water and electrolyte drinks to avoid their party ending prematurely due to dehydration. Given the program flyers every participant was handed out at the entry there was always an overview of the schedule, like food distribution, opening hours of the stalls, honorings, speeches etc., so that this Run had nothing to hide behind any public festival.
There was something for everyone, whether live music, a disco tent or quieter areas for conversations. The cuisine was convincing and spoilt with culinary quality and sufficient quantity to satisfy the appetite of long-travelled Brothers in the special dining area. Snacks were also provided in between the meals. The Pack Ride, the Red & Gold Family’s ride through the city, was a highlight that was not only enjoyed by the Run participants but also marvelled at by the public. Countless Bologna residents and tourists witnessed this Harley armada and did not hesitate to whip out their mobile phones for photos and videos.
Round-about two weeks before this year’s National Run, a European Tour was undertaken through several countries/Clubhouses with Club-Brothers travelling from the USA, Latin America, Australia and Asia, for which bikes were provided. These participating Overseas Brothers received a specially designed Club-Shirt to commemorate that particular Tour on the National Run.
The participants were particularly moved by the visit to the Memorial Tent, where pictures of the various European Bandidos passed away to the Forever Chapter were displayed, surrounded by candles and flowers. A Harley Davidson in the centre of the tent, selected background music and a two-man guard of honour at the entrance showed that „Gone But Not Forgotten“ is not just a phrase at the Bandidos MC.
Many National Run participants were inexpressibly grateful to the Brothers, who, instead of partying themselves, did their best to repair defects on their Brothers’ bikes with their mobile Harley workshop on the spot. With tireless diligence, drenched in sweat, but always with a smile on their faces, they endeavoured to get as many broken-down bikes back on the road as possible.
The batteries in Brotherhood are charged to 100% without exception!
Finally, all that remains is to wish all those who suffered an accident on the roads throughout Europe a speedy and full recovery and to reserve a place in our hearts for the Brothers Bandido Günther1%er and Bandido Emil1%er, who sadly left us for the Forever Chapter that weekend.
